The lifeboat launched to take part in the annual rescue display for Whitstable Regatta.

Whilst off the Long Beach, on the way to Tankerton,  the crew found a speedboat drifting with a rope around its propellor. One of the five people on board was in the water, trying to free the obstruction.

The speedboat was taken under tow, and landed  ashore at the ramp in front of the boathouse.

The lifeboat then returned to Tankerton for the display.
