The lifeboat launched to assist a 22' angling boat, with two people on board, which had broken down 2 miles north of Bishopstone.

The lifeboat arrived on scene and took the craft under tow for Herne Bay Harbour. As the craft was being put on its mooring, Thames CG called the lifeboat to request that it proceed to Seasalter, following a 999 call reporting a Laser sailing dinghy capsized.

The lifeboat therefore left Herne Bay Harbour and headed for Seasalter, and located the dinghy being walked ashore near the Blue Anchor pub, having been assisted by a sailing club rescue boat.
