The lifeboat launched to assist in a search for a vulnerable male missing in the Whitstable area. 

The search commenced from the harbour, close inshore towards Seasalter. 

On the shore, Police officers were also searching, assisted by members of Herne Bay Coastguard team, the North Kent Coastguard Sector Manager, and a shore party of lifeboat personnel.

A police helicopter was also en route.

However after a short while, police reported that the missing person had now returned to his home, and all units were stood down.
