Thames Coastguard requested the lifeboat to launch following a report of a dog having swum 200 m out to sea from the beach just west of Reculver. 

However whilst the lifeboat was still en route to the incident, it was reported that the dog was now ashore, and the lifeboat was therefore released to return to station.
