Details

Having launched at 1915 on exercise, at 1927 Thames Coastguard requested the lifeboat to proceed to Leysdown. What was believed to be a dolphin had been seen close inshore, and a member of the public had been swimming out towards it to get a better look. Sheppey CG was on scene, and had the person under observation.

At 1941 it was reported that the person was safely ashore, so the lifeboat was released to continue on exercise.
