Thames CG requested the lifeboat to launch to assist a
21' motor cruiser broken down amongst the turbines of the Kentish Flats wind
farm. In very similar circumstances to our previous
shout two days ago, the casualty vessel had suffered an engine fire.
Although the fire was now extinguished, it had left the boat without power.
There were two adults and three children on board.
The lifeboat arrived on scene to find the vessel
alongside the wind farm work boat Celtic Challenger, which had
been able to confirm the casualty's position to the coastguard.
The lifeboat took the casualty under tow, and landed
it ashore at Neptune Jetty, Herne Bay, into the care of Herne Bay
Coastguard.
The lifeboat then returned to station.
