The lifeboat launched to assist a sailing dinghy
reported to be capsized off Seasalter.
The lifeboat located the dinghy 3/4 of a mile north of
the Sportsman pub. The occupant was in the water, having made numerous
attempts to right the craft, but it had repeatedly capsized. As he was cold,
he was brought aboard the lifeboat, and landed ashore to his family at
Seasalter Beach before the lifeboat returned to recover the dinghy.
The dinghy was righted, the sails lowered and secured,
and it was then towed alongside the lifeboat back to the owner.
The lifeboat then returned to station.
