The lifeboat launched to assist a 22' motor cruiser
with two p.o.b. which had fouled its propeller on a mooring at Harty
Ferry, near Faversham. After around half an hour the lifeboat crew were
eventually able to free the craft, which was then assisted on to another
mooring.
As the lifeboat was returning to station, passing
the Sand End Buoy, Thames CG requested the lifeboat to return to assist
another motor cruiser, broken down east of the entrance to Faversham
Creek.
Due to the state of the tide, the craft was left at
anchor, and the two occupants were taken aboard the lifeboat and landed
back at Whitstable, to be met by Herne Bay Coastguard.
