Thames CG requested the lifeboat to launch following a report from Kent Police of a man in a dinghy waving for assistance 400 yards off the beach at Seasalter.

As the lifeboat arrived on scene it was confirmed that the occupant was now safely ashore, the dinghy having blown onto the beach. 

The lifeboat therefore returned to station. 

The lifeboat crew was also been paged at 0215 this morning, and brought to immediate readiness, following a report of a missing vulnerable person in the Swalecliffe area.

However the casualty was found ashore by the police, and the lifeboat was not required to launch.
