About our station

The lifeboat answers approximately 60 to 70 calls per year, the majority being in the summer months.

All members of our crew are volunteers, with full time jobs elsewhere. The boathouse is normally unmanned, and the crew are summoned by pager, activated by the Coastguards.

   The boat is launched across the beach by

    tractor and drive-on / drive-off carriage

We have a small shop selling teas, coffees, and souvenirs. 

 

 

 

 

Access to the boathouse is via the West Harbour gate, in Harbour Street.
